Creating a SSH/SFTP user

Creating a SSH/SFTP user

Last updated February 10th, 2016

Creating a SSH user allows you to log into your containers to run commands or upload files. To begin creating a SSH user, follow the simple steps below:

  1. Navigate to the 'Containers' module and click the 'SSH & SFTP' button in the upper navigation bar:

    SSH Users

  2. You should now see a list of existing SSH users. This list will most likely be empty if you did not create a SSH user when you initially created your containers:

  3. Click the 'Add User' button to add a new SSH User:

  4. On the following page, you will be prompted to choose a username and password for your new SSH user and select which containers that you would like this user to have access to:

    Add SSH User

  5. Optionally, you may wish to make the container 'config' directories readonly for this user. For more information on this, please see our SSH User Privileges article.

  6. When you're ready, click the 'Add User' button to begin creating your new user. The new user will appear in the list with a progress indicator alongside it. When the indicator disappears, the user is ready to be used:
