Registering a new domain happens after an order for that domain is placed. New orders can be created by administrators for clients, or by clients themselves. If automatic registration is enabled, the domain will be registered with SiteHost as soon as the invoice for the order is paid. If not, the domain will be registered with SiteHost by an administrator following the process below.
Placing an order as an administrator
Log into your WHMCS Administration area (e.g.: http://example.com/whmcs/admin)
Select Orders > Add New Order (see Figure 1)
Type the domain name into the "Domain" field in the "Product/Service" section, and select "Register" in the "Domain" section. Select a registration period, and any domain addons you would like to enable. Only DNS management is supported for sites managed by SiteHost. The registration period and the TLD must have been previously configured in the Domain Pricing section. (see Figure 2)
Click "Submit Order"
Placing an order as a client
Log into the WHMCS system as a client (e.g.: http://example.com/whmcs)
Select Domains > Register a New Domain and check if the domain is available.
(see Figure 3)
Alternatively you can check if the domain is available directly from the main screen.
If the domain is available, select how long you would like to register the domain for and select "Click to Continue >>" (see Figure 4)
Select "Update Cart", changing the nameservers if required. (see Figure 5)
Ensure that the domain registrant details are correct (if not add a new contact). Add any additional information and select "Complete Order".
Manually registering the domain with SiteHost
If automatic registration on payment is enabled for the domain and payment has been received (or the order is marked paid), the domain will automatically be registered with SiteHost. Domains can also be manually registered:
Log into your WHMCS Administration area (e.g.: http://example.com/whmcs/admin).
Select Clients > Domain Registrations and select the domain to be registered. Alternatively you can select Orders > List All Orders and select the order that has the domain to be registered, then select the domain that you want to register. (see Figure 6)
If necessary Ensure that the "Registrar" field to "SiteHost", any required management tools are selected and select "Save Changes to enable the "Registrar Commands" (see Figure 7)
Select "Register". (see Figure 8)
If necessary change the default name servers and select "Yes" to complete the registration. (see Figure 9)
